Brownies

Have you ever wonder if there is a healthy version of brownies where you are guilt free?

Well, I went to a conference about healthy eating and they made me try a pretty good brownie. I couldn't believe it was made with black beans.

You will need the following ingredients:
1. 3 eggs
2. A can (540ml) of black beans rinsed and drained
3. 1/2 cup of sugar
4. 1/4 cup of canola oil
5. 1tsp of vanilla extract
6. 1/2 cacao powder

Preheat the oven to 180 degree celsius. Line with parchment paper a 8inch square pan. In a food processor, pulse the black beans until you get a smooth texture then add the eggs, sugar, cacao, canola oil and the vanilla extract. Pour the mixture in the pan and bake it for 35-40min. Let it cool and voilĂ !

I hope you will enjoy the recipe!

Review of Ombrelle Face Sunscreen Stick SPF 60

Hi Friends,

One of the most important things for your skin all year long is sunscreen because you need to protect it from UVA and UVB rays.

So I have been trying different brand of face solar creams and I end up loving the Ombrelle face stick sunscreen with SPF 60. I love it so much because it doesn't leave my face with a white layer, it doesn't break me out, it is not greasy, the package is just the perfect size to be put in your purse in the go and last but not least it doesn't smell anything. It cost around 16$ CAN.

Have a good day.

OPI Nail Lacquer Steady as she Rose Review

As you may know after reading my blog, I'm a true fan of Essie but somehow I tend to try new product and I must admit that I start to love OPI nail polishes. So for today, I will do a short review about the OPI Nail Lacquer: Steady as she Rose.

First of all, you must know that the bottom picture doesn't give the color justice. For the color, it is almost a neutral color. There is a hint of grey and a really light lilac color. Somehow I do think it looks elegant. It can look fabulous on someone that has a light skin color or tan or darker. As you might see on the left picture, it is a little chip but it was after a week and no top coat so this product is really amazing. The application was easy and the brush is just perfect. This product gets my approval and I give it a 5/5.

Glaxal Base Review

Last week, I ran out of petroleum jelly and I wanted to try a new product so I decided to purchase a Glaxal Base Moisturizing Cream jar. So far, I love this product because it stops the itching and redness of my eczema rashes. Also, it is quite cheap for a jar of 450 g since it is 14.99$ CAN in Costco. It does smell something but it doesn't bothers me all and I quite like it. People might think the cream consistency is thick but the skin absorb it quickly. I don't have anything bad to say about this product and I do think it is a must have for people that have eczema or dry skin.

Have a lovely day,
Carolyn

My Holy Grail for dry and sensitive skin

There is a product that works like wonders and it is really cheap. It is the Vaseline Petroleum Jelly. People might not like this product because it has greasy feeling when you use it but when you have really dry and sensitive skin like I do it doesn't matter at all.

I also have eczema so my skin can be flaky, dry and it can react easily to any fragrance. It helped me treat it and I saved a lot of money because prescribed creams can be quite expensive. How do I use the petroleum jelly on my eczema? Apply it on the affected area and put a band aid over night. The next morning the bleeding or red patches will fade.

Do you want to have smooth feet for summer? Apply it on your feet and wear socks when you sleep. The next morning you will not have any cracks on your feet.

PROS:

  1. soften skin
  2. moisturize skin
  3. fragrance free
  4. cheap

CONS:

  1. can be greasy but I actually don't mind

Keihl's Midnight Recovery Concentrate Review

It has been a month that I have use Keihl's Midnight Recovery Concentrate and this product is amazing. You have to know that my skin is sensitive so it gets really dry and red when I use a new product.

I was surprised that when I used it I didn't have any reaction. The next morning my skin looks smooth and even. I also noticed that my acne scars have fade. You don't need a lot of product a few drops go a long way. It cost 48 CAN$ for a bottle of 30mL. On Keihl's website, it says that it is fragrance free but I did smell an herbal smell. It isn't bad and I must admit that the fragrance is calming. My skin did absorb the product really fast and it doesn't feel greasy at all. Usually, I put a few drops on my face let it be absorb and apply my moisturizer before bed.

Overall I do suggest any of you that can get a hand on it should buy this product because it does really work. Keihl's products never fail on me and I wish it will never. Have an awesome day my friends.

Mother's Day Gift Guide

I don't know for you guys but my mom doesn't like when I spend a lot of money on her. So for today, I will give you some ideas for Mothers' days.

You should at least get:

1. Flowers
Flowers aren't expensive and most mommies love a fresh bouquet in the house. Choose something that she loves or something that is colourful so it can brightens her day.

2. A card
Choose a cute card. It will be better if it is blank inside so you can write a personalized message. If you want you can always make one your own it will be personal.

Some others personalized ideas:

If you have some times, you can make a small souvenir video buy putting some vacations clips, old pictures, her favourite songs, etc.

You can make some coupons that she can use in exchange for a service. For example, cook her diner or wash the dishes or take a day off and bring her to the mall.

What you can buy?

1. Listen to her, ask her questions and you will know what she needs. Buy something that is useful. For example, buy her a T-shirt that she likes.

2. If you don't know what she needs, give her a gift card from her favourite store.

Avoid buying perfume because it is personal. Not everyone loves the same scent. If you are buying one be sure it's something she loves.

I hope this helped some of you. Have a great day,
